Del Millers (Author Of New Book DANCING WITH GOD)
Offers A New Approach To Become Fit In Body, Mind And Spirit

"Dancing with God will inspire you...in a way that will be chicken soup for your body and your soul. I couldn't put it down."
 Jack Canfield
Co-author, Chicken Soup for the Soul

Los Angeles---Moving beyond the mere physical benefits of exercise, author, lecturer, martial arts and fitness expert Del Millers expounds a new concept of physical activity that marries the psyche, the mind, the emotions and the body into a harmonious rhythm of psychological well-being and physical fitness. In his new book, Dancing with God, Millers who has a master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology, delves deeply into the connectedness of body, mind and soul.

Much in demand as a workshop leader across the country in corporate settings and through the Learning Annex, Millers teaches participants how to get in touch with their emotions, creativity and life purpose through physical movement. Expanding on the concept of the body-mind connection that has gained so much momentum in the health care field, Millers stresses the importance of setting a clear intention during physical exercise. “It’s a great time to reflect and make personal discoveries,” he says. “It’s a highly effective form of moving meditation. Let your feelings and emotions talk to you through your body. Allow your creative impulses to spring forth spontaneously. Release negative emotions trapped energetically in your body.”

Listening to the language of the body is a key aspect of propelling physical exercise into a higher dimension of self-healing and self-actualization, according to Millers. “It’s not just about losing weight, firming up and becoming physically strong and healthy. It’s also about becoming mentally, emotionally and spiritually fit. It’s about becoming whole in body, mind and spirit and discovering the joys of feeling vibrant, joyful and living a rich and purposeful life. It’s about connecting with our life essence --truly dancing with God.

To reach that self-actualizing place of deep inner calm and silence in the midst of physical movement, it is essential to set the clear intention to “get out of your mind,” Miller emphasizes. “It is in this state of total harmony of body, mind and soul that we are dancing with God.”

Miller offers a few simple tips for persons who are inspired to explore “dancing with God”: 1. Ask yourself what is important to you when you embark on a physical activity program--body, mind or emotions? 2. Focus on the way you want to feel, what you want to happen inside of you. If you focus too much on the physical and set unrealistic goals, you set yourself up for frustration and you might give up. 3. Don’t ever criticize yourself. The important thing is that you are doing it. Acknowledge yourself for it. 4. Focus on your breathing. It helps energize your body and reduces stress. 5. Practice inner-body awareness. Start identifying what you are feeling in your body. Become aware of every part of your body--your ankles, knees, hips, abdomen. Over time, learn to distinguish between “good” and “bad” feelings. Intentionally release tension through body movements. 6. Fantasize about what you want to be or do while moving your body. It’s O.K. to play basketball against Michael Jordan and win. Positive thoughts have a positive effect on your body and mind.
