Eagle Claw Application

Eight Special Points for Practicing Eagle Claw:
The techniques of the Eagle Claw System come from the movements
of the eagle: powerful claws, fast eyes, smooth body movements,
and versatile techniques. When practicing Eagle Claw, the stepping
should be light like a bird, the fist should have power concentrated
at one point. Power should always be controlled and come from
the whole body. Breathing should be natural.
Eight points to keep in mind:
- The fists should be like shooting stars; fast and smooth, giving
the opponent no chance to block or fight back.
- Eyes like electricity: by watching your opponents body movements
you should be able to tell what he is going to do before he does
it.
- The waist should be like a running snake, strong and smooth, giving
power to your techniques.
- Steps should be strong and smooth.
- Spirit. Every movement should be done with body and mind.
- Power. Every move should have power.
- The chi should be kept down; the body and mind should always be
kept calm and controlled.
- Control. Kung Fu is best when power is perfectly controlled. When
power is controlled, the movements are clear.
